The HP external Hard Drive (1TB)

The HP external Hard Drive (1TB) combines the next-generation speeds of USB 3.0 and 1 TB (1000GB) of storage space, all in portable pocket-sized package. Its backup sofware is an accent to this capable hard drive and ups its overall value.

The HP external Hard Drive measuresa a very portable 4.4 x 3 x 0.5 inches (HWD) and weighs a scant half pound, which is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports. The backup software, HP SimpleSave, comes on the hard drive so you can choose to install it or just enjoy the plug and play experience.
When you open HP's SimpleSave software, it takes you to an inventory of your system and determines how much space would be taken up on your hard drive if you copied everything from your PC. You can pick and choose what file types you want backed up or select individual files. HP SimpleSave will then back up your PC every 5 minutes.

The HP External Hard Drive was able to transfer 1 1.22 GB file in less then 19 seconds. It blew other drives, such as Toshiba 650 GB external drive and Seagate FreeAgent 500GB, out of the water in speed and performance.

The HP External Hard Drive (1TB) offers enough space to back up most home computers with room to spare. I Think this HP External Hard Drive  should be on your portable back up list for school or home. It's recomended drive !.

The HP External Hard Drive  pros and cons :
Pros : it has USB 3.0 ports, competitive performance score compared to eSATA, portble chassis, 1 TB storege, comes with simple backup software

The HP External Hard Drive's price $169.99
